designed to provide reinforcement for both linings and flooring. It
works as a surface framework to keep cement or refractory in place,
and it also reduces the stress in the lining’s upper crust, which
helps to prevent spalling and cracking.
The hex metal is very strong and it designed in such a way that it
is able to resist abrasion and corrosion very well. In addition, it
helps to extend the refractory life considerably. Even hot gases
are deflected away from the refractory because they are reflected
off the metal cellular grid.
