The term “358” originates from its measurements of 3"*0.5"*8"
gauges, which equate to approximately 76.2mm*12.7mm*4mm
(Length*Height*Diameter) in the metric system. Upon conversion to
the imperial system, the formula was used to name the fence system
“358.”
